BERNARD
produced around 30 works in English in his life time and they are listed here. His interests are chiefly pastoral.

Collected editions of his works in Latin and English appeared in 1598 (?), 1607, 1614, 1629 and 1641. Bernard's very first published work was a translation of the Latin poet Terence, which went into at least six editions.

He also wrote 'A Short View of the Praelaticall Church of England...Together with a Short Draught of Church Government' (1641). The tract attacked prelacy and proposed that a presbyterian system be engrafted into the structure of the Church of England.

We know it was written by Bernard because it was republished in 1661 with The Anatomie of the Common Prayer Book and both were stated to be written by 'John Barnard, sometimes minister of Batcomb in Somersetshire' - John Barnard, was of course a pseudonym of Richard Bernard, being his father's name.
