If my research is correct he was my 9th ggf and I am interested in finding more of my roots around the Rhode Island colony. Thank you for any help you can provide. I believe his father and mother named him after Bernard's son of the same name (as I have found no other source) and I think Bernard had a strong impact on all three sons -- Cananuiel became a Quaker and emigrated to Pennsylvania, Richard became the vicar at Bisley Gloucester, and Nathaniel emigrated to Staten Island! I had wondered how they all scattered to the winds, and I think it likely due to Pastor Richard Bernard's profound influence!Donna Hay, Los Angelesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6756645380589273780.post-32925662197762205192020-02-20T14:54:14.289-08:002020-02-20T14:54:14.289-08:00Richard and wife Mary (her maiden name, alas, lost...Richard and wife Mary (her maiden name, alas, lost to us) are among my 9th great grandparents; Roger and Mary (Barnard) Williams, among my 8ths. It's interesting to find that Richard's thought and writing is still found thought-provoking today (as are the notions of his son-in-law, who remains one of my personal heroes).

Cheers, Christopher Childs
author, "The Spirit's Terrain: Creativity, Activism, and Transformation" (Beacon Press)
christopher_childs (at) earthlink.netChristopher Childshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00750864677103795953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6756645380589273780.post-3168144309847701552019-12-06T07:40:28.006-08:002019-12-06T07:40:28.006-08:00He's my direct ancestor too - haven't coun...He's my direct ancestor too - haven't counted the generations!

Is it possible to access some of his writings so I can read them myself?

Philippa Baxternoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6756645380589273780.post-8671358681962906892017-06-12T15:47:43.961-07:002017-06-12T15:47:43.961-07:00Thanks so much for posting this interesting inform...Thanks so much for posting this interesting information about my 11th great grandfather.
